Abstract

This short article describes, through examples drawn from various sources, four Spanish grammatical forms from several Latin American countries: pocotón, poconón, pocotonón y pocononón. These adverbial pseudo-partitive locutions serve to express quantification and emphasis, and its semantic value is similar to ‘much/ very much’, ‘loads of’ in General Spanish.
