Adverbios y operadores en la gramática del náhuatl clásico

Tradicionalmente, se han catalogado como “adverbios” un grupo heterogéneo de morfos del Náhuatl Clásico (NC). En este texto, propongo revisar los criterios de adscripción de esta clase de palabras, lo que me llevará a hacer una distinción entre la clase de adverbios y una segunda a la que llamaré operadores, constituida morfológicamente por clíticos, entre los que se encuentran morfos como ca=, cuix=, mā=, nel=, a’zo=, mach=, quil=, at= y ye=. Mi interés principal se encuentra en el reconocimiento de esta clase. Proporcionaré argumentos para observar cómo estos operadores presentan una sintaxis particular que replica icónicamente las relaciones de sentido entre estos elementos y la cláusula. Finalmente, propondré algunas consecuencias derivadas de asumir la existencia de estos operadores en otros morfos de la lengua.
